Based in Dallas, TX, GHD currently has an opportunity for a Rail & Transit Lead to help lead and grow our Rail and Transit team in the Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston and Austin metropolitan areas.

As the Rail & Transit Lead, you will support our rail transit leadership team and oversee transportation and related rail and transit pursuits and projects across the State of Texas. The position will include support of business development, providing client relationship management, and leading a diversified portfolio of projects and project types, as required. The position may include limited staff management.

Our ideal candidate has strong leadership, business development, project management, and rail transit engineering skills. Established client relationships and a consistent record with developing new business opportunities is required. We are seeking self-motivated and active networkers who value building credible relationships with clients and the community.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a forward-looking perspective on market trends and industry developments as they change, through participation in industry groups (e.g. APTA, WTS, etc.), reviewing advancements and monitoring other projects and processes and client activity
  • Serve as the capture manager for key client pursuits
  • Build GHD client relationships through industry knowledge and experience
  • Work collaboratively and seamlessly with other GHD business groups within the US West and MidCon regions (e.g. transportation, environmental and future energy), consulting engineering firms and contractors to win and complete work and service commitments.
  • Seek out internal resources wherever they may be to provide efficient project delivery and excellent client satisfaction. This will include active participation in GHD's Rail & Transit service line which includes GHD team members in Australia, Canada, United Kingdom, Middle East and the U.S.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
  • Minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience in the rail & transit industry with a demonstrated history of progressively more responsibility.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of project management experience on light rail and/or commuter rail final design projects.
  • Licensed as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Texas with licensure in the State of California a plus.
