Key personnel that will assist in conducting meaningful research to assist faculty in teaching and research programs.

Major/Essential Functions
- Research: Coordinating research projects, contributing to team research efforts, including fungal genetics and molecular biology, cell line and animal model experiments
- Data analysis: Compiling and analyzing data from ELISA, RT-PCR, and animal experiments and with statistical analysis software.
- Experimental design: Prepares and aids in training of experimental subjects for experimental procedures in accordance with approved animal or human use protocols. Resolves design problems and special requirements for equipment. Designing and setting up experiments in molecular biology and animal experiment
- Safety: Ensuring that lab employees follow safety regulations and standards for handling and disposing of samples. They also maintain current knowledge of safety procedures and protocols. Management of SOP for the lab.
- Equipment and supplies: Sets up, operates, and calibrates laboratory equipment and apparatus in accordance with protocols for research
- Fund management: Tracking project spending and projections for each project with input provided by the financial and support groups.
- Staff management: Managing the laboratory's staff, including training and mentoring lab members.
- Compliance: Ensuring that the laboratory complies with regulatory guidelines.
- Identify staffing requirements and support talent acquisition (hiring) activities.
- Identify, and work with PI to develop scope work plans, assign staff, and hire additional supports.
- Willing to work flexible schedule that may include occasional evening or weekend shifts

Preferred Qualifications
- Lab management experience (>3 years preferred) in a lab in academia or government or private company sets.
- Strong history of training lab staff and students.
- Animal tissue and fungal cell culture.
- Molecular Biology including designing primers for PCR and RT-PCR, fungal and bacterial transformation, gene deletions in fungal genomes.
- Cytokine analysis from cultured tissues and animal tissues by ELISA and RT-PCR.
- Rodent experiment experience including infections, tissue collection, and blood collection.
