Position Summary:

This Research Technician position involves three primary areas. The first area of responsibility will involve performing in vitro experiments using a range of techniques including RT-PCR, qPCR, chromatin immunoprecipitation, western blotting, cell culture, site directed mutagenesis, and flow cytometry. The second area of responsibility will involve in vivo experiments with a range of tumor models to elucidate mechanisms of tumorigenesis and assessment of immune cells that infiltrate the tumor. The third area of responsibility will involve general lab maintenance, purchasing reagents and assisting with lab organization. This position will be expected to maintain lab notebooks at the highest of standards and will be expected to plan experiments and meet with the PI weekly to discuss data. The Research Technician will be expected to read literature related to current project and incorporate this knowledge when assisting with experimental design.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.

Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience:

Must have knowledge in the field of biological sciences.
Must demonstrate the ability to adhere to grant and manuscript deadlines by managing multiple competing priorities.
Must demonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Must have a willingness to learn new methodologies and be comfortable working collaboratively as part of a research team.

Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience:

Having experience with a range of molecular techniques is preferred. These techniques can include, but are not limited to, immunofluorescence, RT-PCR, qPCR, chromatin immunoprecipitation, western blotting, cell culture, site directed mutagenesis, CRISPR/Cas-9 genome editing, lentiviral infection, analysis of in vivo tumor models, and flow cytometry.
