Carlisle Weatherproofing Technologies (CWT) is a leading suppler of building envelope solutions that effectively drive energy efficiency and sustainability in commercial and residential applications. We are look for a site-level Safety & Continuous Improvement Coordinator to join our team in Chattanooga, TN.

Job Summary

The site Safety/COS coordinator is responsible for ensuring the site is compliant with applicable EHS policies and procedures, manage the lean manufacturing (COS) efforts and assist with ISO 9001 and 14001 certifications. The individual will work closely with plant management and will lead site safety, site COS and site ISO programs. Standard hours of operation are Monday-Friday 7 am to 4:00 pm with occasional overtime and weekend support required. Minimal travel will be required.

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Coordinate plant safety programs and initiatives.

* Serve as primary advisor for site safety compliance.
* Conduct site's new employee and temporary worker safety on-boarding training.
* Conduct timely accident/incident investigations and ensure timely reporting to plant management and corporate headquarters.
* Maintain OSHA 300 logs and compliance records of safety and health programs.
* Schedule, lead, and be actively involved in safety committee meetings.
* Ensure that all safety corrective actions are completed.
* Conduct annual review of safety manuals and update.
* Maintain HAZCOM requirements and SDS's.
* Ensure that JSAs and LOTO procedures are completed for all processes, materials, and equipment before use.
* Keep records of all employee training, corrections of unsafe conditions, and dates and results of workplace inspections.
* Submit necessary documentation to the corporate office for recordkeeping including Safety Committee minutes, inspection reports, forklift inspection checklists, accident investigation reports, and near miss reports.
* Ensure contractor safety compliance.
* OSHA Process Safety Management oversight and training (if applicable).
* Coordinate COS (Lean Manufacturing) programs and initiatives such as: Managing Daily Improvement (MDI), Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Operational Excellence, and 5S.

* Conduct COS audits and maintain status indicators and achievement level submittals.
* Audit SQDC board use and training.
* Assist with COS training for new hires.
* Participate in Kaizen and process improvement events and follow-up audits to ensure sustainment and completion of parking lot items.
* Partner with site management team to identify, scope and coordinate process improvement events.
* Participate in Policy Deployment, including understanding of the intent and working to advance the PD team progress.
* Perform basic data analysis and identify or facilitate the identification of cost improvement projects.
* Participate in boardwalks and team huddles as available.
* Coordinate ISO activities at the plant level

* Work with Sustainability staff to ensure compliance with all 9001 and 14001 procedures.
* Ensure all data is collected and reported in a timely manner.
* Participate in the internal audit process and follow up on nonconformities according to protocol.
* Ensure all necessary records are accurately maintained and updated on a regular basis.
* Respond to audit requests in a timely manner and follow up as necessary on non-conformities.
* Maintain regular strategic communication with Plant Management and leadership teams.
* Other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions:

* Manufacturing Plant environment where the plants may be dirty, dusty, and hotter/colder than office settings.
* Atmosphere may contain fumes, dust, gas, and poor ventilation.
* Monday - Friday; 7:00 am - 4:00 pm.
* Occasional overtime or weekends required.

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

* Experience with computers and proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
* Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills required.
* Prior experience interacting with coworkers at all levels from shop floor to Plant Managers.
* Ability to act in a self-confident manner to facilitate completion of a work assignment.
* Prior leadership experience and ability to motivate employees.
* Strong follow-up skills and ability to follow through with high energy.
* Comfortable with presenting effectively in front of small and large groups.
* Ability to find a solution for or to deal proactively with work-related problems.
* Ability to complete assigned tasks under stressful situations.
* Strong computer skills.
* Full Performance Knowledge of:

* Applicable government safety regulations and plant specific safety policies.
* Lean Certification from an accredited body.
* Technical ability to teach, coach, and train others using a variety of methods.

Education and Experience:

* Required:

* Minimum of Associate's Degree or Technical School Degree required.
* 3+ years of experience in Safety position desired.
* 3+ years of Continuous Improvement/Lean Manufacturing experience desired.
* OSHA 30 Certification preferred (will be required to be certified within 90 days).
* Prior Management experience.
