Position Summary:

Small Business Senior Analyst's primary job responsibility is to manage the operational aspects of Webster Bank's Small Business (Section 1071) and CRA reportable small business Analytics and Reporting Program, which includes data collection, validation, compilation and analysis of the Bank's applicable small business data. The incumbent will collect and validate critical data elements required for regulatory compliance and reporting and to accurately perform fair lending analyses using basic statistical techniques (mean, standard deviations, statistical significance) of data analytics software. The successful candidate will also assist with Office of Corporate Responsibility, and CRA/Fair and Responsible Banking analytics, initiatives and deliverables as needed.

Responsibilities Include, without limitation:

  • Assisting with the development of Section 1071 compliance analytic and regulatory reporting program
  • Analyzing, interpreting, and maintaining a strong knowledge of all current and proposed relevant laws and regulations that are managed under and/or are impacting the Fair and Responsible Banking Program.
  • Analyzing potential anomalies in bank data and determining solutions to correct deficiencies, limit repeat deficiencies or other recommended courses of action.
  • Summarizing and effectively communicating the results of Webster's Fair and Responsible Banking Analyses and/or other reviews, including conclusions and recommendations.
  • Communicating best practices and expectations and assisting with the implementation of strategic plans to address deficiencies.
  • Conducting data integrity reviews and testing or monitoring to identify control issues which require corrective action and resolution.
  • Conducting comparative or investigative reviews to determine whether policies and procedures were followed.
  • Identifying policies/trends/data integrity issues that may contribute to fair lending/banking risk.
  • Recommending internal control improvements and identifying specific instances where remediation may be required.
  • Developing and monitoring procedures and executing analyses designed to evaluate data for evidence of disparate treatment/impact.
  • Collaborating with Corporate Compliance partners and business line representatives to identify and mitigate Fair Lending/Banking risk.
  • Preparing and assisting the Annual Regulatory HMDA and CRA Submission efforts
  • Assisting with preparation of regulatory examinations and audits.
  • Assisting with the Office of Corporate Responsibility analytical initiatives and deliverables as needed
Educations, Skills & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree required or higher degree preferred and 4+ years related experience
  • Strong regulatory knowledge and experience with Fair Lending, CRA, and HMDA as well as NYDFS small business
  • Experience with Wolters Kluwer/RiskExec CRA, HMDA, Section 1071 or other related software modules
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills using Excel or other similar software.

The estimated base salary range for this position is $75,000 USD to $95,000 USD. Actual salary may vary up or down depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position is eligible for incentive compensation.
