We are seeking a Senior Electrical Layout Design Engineer in the Global Gas Solutions Packaging team. As a Senior Electrical Design Engineer, you will have responsibility for planning and executing enclosure packaging development and customizing programs and electrical charging solutions for our construction and mining equipment. This work also includes cost reduction, on time design work, documentation and ongoing maintenance initiatives. Keys to success in this role are the ability to manage project plans, effectively communicating with process partners and escalate issues as needed. You will manage the planning and delivery of projects, continually learn and stay up to date on innovative technologies, mentor and coach team members, and deepen your professional network.

Interpersonal, leadership and strong communication skills are required for this position. A significant role of this position involves working with people: facilitating cooperation and collaboration, clearly communicating project requirements and tasks while utilizing input from the team, translating information from the customer, management, and other team members. Team leaders are often the voice of the team in meetings with multiple levels of management with the customer. Team leaders must develop a good network, which enables them to obtain the resources and cooperation needed to remove roadblocks, so that they can ensure the success of their team. Even increasing skills in the role base competencies of managing Vision & Purpose, Decision making, and negotiation are required.

What you will do:

• Lead global team in the design of new products, processes, components, and systems.
  
• Provide technical guidance on product needs, analysis, and initiation of new ideas.
  
• Communicate results to global customers, suppliers, team members, and representatives from other business units.
  
• Complete projects on time and on cost
  
• Acknowledge and raise customers and management's awareness of trade off's between time, cost, resources, and quality.
  

Degree Requirement
Bachelor's degree in an accredited Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or Electronics Engineering.

Technical Excellence: Experience with engine or electrical design, enclosure electrical layout, engine or genset controller development
Level Extensive Experience:

• Experience with ProE/Creo and AutoCad Electrical

• Experience with electrical codes (UL, NEC)

• Experience with natural gas and alternate fuels for engines and gensets.

Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.

• Designs working prototypes of a variety of proposed products or services.

• Presents complex products and systems graphically.
• Performs manipulations on design objects, such as changing projections and managing drawing layers.
• Directs the matrix computations performed to transform objects in coordinate space.
• Consults on benefits and drawbacks of top-down design vs. bottom-up design.
• Compares and contrasts uses of bird's-eye views and worm's-eye views.

Product Design - MFG: Knowledge of processes, approaches, tools and techniques of product design; ability to convert customer and market requirements into product design.
Level Extensive Experience:
• Develops improvement plans for senior management and evaluates the outcome of the design against the functionality.
• Advises others on the development of multiple products and their functionality.
• Trains others on advanced tools and approaches of product design.
• Monitors the processes and procedures of a complex product design to ensure functional requirements are met.
• Evaluates feedback from customers and consults on functional weaknesses.
• Controls design and development costs of a proposed product through effective resource coordination.

Summary Pay Range:
$110,520.00 - $165,840.00
