Sr. Manager, Logistics

The University of Miami/UHealth department of Supply Chain has an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Sr. Manager, Logistics to work at the UHealth Hialeah Medical Campus.

Core Summary

The Senior Manager of Logistics plans and manages logistics, warehouse, transportation, and customer service. This position directs, optimizes, and coordinates full order cycle. In addition, the Senior Manager leads the University of Miami enterprise fleet inventory to include acquisition, operations, and maintenance. The Senior Manager of Logistics will report to the Associate Vice President of Supply Chain Operations.

Core Responsibilities

  • Manages supplies, materials, and products.
  • Oversees supply chain processes to include warehouse spaces and transportation services used.
  • Identifies ways to improve logistical operations.
  • Strategizes for time and cost savings throughout the supply chain process.
  • Analyzes factors affecting supply chain.
  • Selects carriers for transportation and negotiates rates and contracts with carriers.
  • Responds to and resolves complaints and problems.
  • Maintains metrics and analyzes data to assess performance and implement improvements.
  • Keeps up to date on shipping carriers, routes, and rates and any changes to them.
  • Manages the maintenance of all order-related documentation and tracking information.
  • Works with other departments to resolve inventory and supply order issues, ensure timely deliveries, and addresses stop shipments or credit holds.
  • Oversees University of Miami and UHealth fleet operations, including the management of all types of vehicles (includes golf carts, side-by-sides, etc.).
  • Develops and implements effective strategies to improve fleet operations, management, and efficiency.
  • This includes the implementation, proper use, and maintenance of the Fleet Management System (FMS). Monitors and adheres to all DOT, federal, state, county and municipal vehicle regulations.
  • Analyzes data and develops reports on fleet performance, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
  • Manages fleet management systems, ensuring they are up-to-date and accurately reflect fleet operations.
  • Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

Core Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business, logistics, operations engineering, supply chain management or similar degree areas required. Masters in related field preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years working in the logistics or transportation career field.
  • Commercial Drivers License (CDL) required.
  • Masters in related field preferred.

Any relevant education, certifications and/or work experience may be considered.
