Job Description Summary

The role creates create self-organizing teams that are flexible and fully productive during sprints. The Sr Scrum Master plans and tracks multiple scrum deliverables and guides teams to successful outcomes. They ensure the scrum team adheres to scrum frameworks, principles and best practices with an Agile practitioner mindset. They may manage high visibility, high-impact projects, or multiple smaller projects.

Summary of Position

Responsibilities

Agile project leadership:

  • Leads team on key design decisions, resource allocation, project planning activities, risk assessment, design and technical reviews, completion of results and resolution of problems. Drive team to project completion ensuring that we are creating best-in-class product and service experiences.
  • Develop detailed program/project execution plan, and handle all implementation processes including projects financials, progress tracking, metrics, supervising change control process, testing, release to production and on-time delivery within budget constraints.


  • Provide overall communications to all levels of the organization to continually maintain project visibility.


  • Build streamlined and complete status reporting to support project/program discussions at Steering Committee and Sponsor level.


  • Guide the DET on how to use scrum & agile practices and methodologies; Promote organizational understanding of Agile roles and to help teams and individuals transitioning from waterfall to Agile.


  • Lead daily scrum, sprint review, and planning meetings in a way that ensures full team engagement.


  • Support Product Owner on release planning; facilitate QA and testing meetings before product/site launches.


Team leadership:

  • Cultivate close collaboration across all team members, encourage cross-training and supporting each other.


  • Remove impediments ( eg. , cultural barriers, logistic challenges); shield the team from external interference and ensure the team is fully functional and productive.


  • Develop team rapport in a remote work environment; develop self-organization and growth within the team.


  • Build a believing and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of judgment or retaliation; with an emphasis on problem-solving and psychological safety.


Qualifications and Experience
  • Degree level qualification; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of proven experience.
  • Experience in Agile Development, with specific Scrum Master (or similar) experience preferred; Scrum certification preferred.
  • Experience coaching teams on agile practices and adherence to agile methodology to deliver max business value on time.
  • Jira and Confluence knowledge and experience.
  • Experience with a global level company.
  • Speaking another language is a plus.

  • Deep knowledge of relevant products and journeys.


  • Strong communication skills with ability to communicate complex messages and guide new concepts.


  • Able to resolve conflicts within the team before they become an issue - strong mediator.


  • Confident and skilled at navigating the team through road-blocks to allow sprints to be completed on time.


  • Brings a high-energy and passionate outlook to the job and can influence those around them.


  • Able to build a sense of trust and rapport that creates a comfortable & effective workplace.


  • Comfortable in a global, fast-paced, always-on, highly matrixed environment with limited resources.
