The 60,000 square foot facility boasts approximately 2,000 seats, locker rooms, concession stands, and event rooms that can accommodate private groups of up to 50 people. The ice surface itself is 85' x 200', totaling 16,327 square feet of frozen fun and healthy activity. The main entrance into the lower concourse is off of Lower Walnut Street. The rink may also be accessed via its entrance on Walnut Street. The Penn Ice Rink meets a wide range of needs. The rink is home to many hockey clubs for men and women, along with annual tournament play. The skating season spans from mid-June to late April each year. The Ice Rink is normally open 18 hours per day, 7 days per week.Job DescriptionThe Skating Instructor is a temporary part-time position who teaches group ice skating lessons. In support of and under the Learn to Skate (LTS) Director and Assistant Manager of the Ice Rink. The Ice Rink is normally open 18 hours per day, 7 days per week. This position is primarily scheduled to work on the weekend during Learn to Skate program. This position must be visible to customers and staff while at the Ice Rink. Additional hours for preparation can be completed in and/or out of the ice rink as directed as a Customer Service Representative. However, this position will not be scheduled for more than 29 hours per week. The successful applicant must be readily available to respond to customer concerns with a focus on ensuring safety and customer experience.

Qualifications
High school diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience, are required. Availability to work weekends is required as scheduled. Must be able to Skate and possess ability to teach skating lessons at the discretion and approval of Learn to Skate Director. US Figure Skating Association certification preferred. Registration with Learn to Skate USA is required. Strong verbal and written communication skills required. Ability to provide excellent customer service to a diverse customer base. Ability to instruct students of all ages (5yo and up). Provide superior customer service in a timely manner.
