Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Sr Applications Scientist to join our team at the new Center of Excellence in San Francisco, US. Your work will be an important contributor to exploring and promoting the utilization of Cryo-EM in drug discovery, enabling the development of new therapeutics!

Responsibilities

• Implement innovative single particle analysis workflow strategies to deliver protein and protein complex structures
• Provide guidance on biochemical and sample preparation strategies
• Perform sample screening and analysis of images
• Collect high-resolution data using advanced equipment
• Maintain and monitor system performance
• Identify and resolve software and hardware issues
• Support activities to ensure high-quality results and productivity
  

Requirements

• Advanced degree in Biological Sciences, Biochemistry, Biophysics, or Structural Biology (PhD or equivalent experience)
• Extensive background in high-end electron microscopy
• Experience interacting with customers, service teams, and R&D colleagues
• Strong communication and inter-cultural skills
• Ability to work independently and in teams

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $100,000.00-$149,950.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
