Reporting to the Deputy Vice Dean of Academic Affairs, the Associate Director E-Academic Advisor and Student Accommodation (AA-SA) leads the MBA Academic Affairs office's strategy for student accommodation and disability services, ensuring compliance with legal standards and promoting an inclusive educational environment. The AA-SA manages all aspects of these services, working in close partnership with the faculty, administration, and University offices, and provides strategic oversight of related resources and processes. The AA-SA also develops and maintains comprehensive policies, guidance, and procedures that advance our commitment to inclusivity and student success.

Job Description

As a key member of the MBA advising team, the AA-SA contributes to the overall delivery of the Wharton MBA program and provides direct academic advising to students. The AA-SA serves as the primary liaison to Penn's Office of Student Disabilities Services, ensuring that MBA students receive accommodations in compliance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). This includes managing, supervising, implementing, and coordinating students' academic accommodation, as well as training and supervising staff, coordinating processes and technology related to student accommodations, and driving continuous improvements in service delivery.

In addition, the AA-SA plays a crucial role in planning and executing the MBA Program Preterm activities, including scheduling and effectively representing the priorities of the academic affairs office.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leads the MBA program's strategy for student accommodations and disability services, ensuring compliance with legal standards, communicating policies, and promoting an inclusive educational environment. Serves as the primary liaison to Penn's Office of Student Disabilities Services. Manages, supervises, implements, and coordinates MBA students' academic accommodations, trains and supervises staff, coordinates processes and technology related to student accommodations, and drives continuous improvements in service delivery.   • Liaises and partners with the administration, students, faculty, and university offices to ensure alignment and effective execution of the MBA student experience, develop and maintain shared policies, guidance, and procedures.
  • Serves as an member of the MBA advising team, and directly advises students.
  • Plays an integral role in the planning and execution of Preterm
  • Supervises the MBA Academic Affairs office's Student Experience Coordinator.


Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of experience required. An MBA, JD, or a Master's degree in Education is strongly preferred.
  • Experience managing student accommodations and disability services, with knowledge of disability laws and compliance requirements, such as the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act.
  • Experience with advising students and briefing senior management. Operate effectively and manage ambiguity.
  • Proven record managing academic programs and offerings. Familiarity with academic platforms and data applications.
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, organizational, presentation, and communication skills. The ability to collaborate across diverse teams is essential. Attention to detail.
  • Experience in event planning is highly desirable.

Salary offers are made based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, as well as internal and market factors and grade profile.
