Sr. Project Engineer
Location: Hattiesburg, MS (onsite)
Opportunity
Performs engineering assignments of a complex nature associated with the manufacture of machined components and assemblies with limited guidance. Performs in engineering subtasks involving the design, fabrication, validation, and manufacture of subassemblies, systems, processes, and equipment. Conceives and plans engineering subtasks to explore product or process problems; defines and selects new concepts and approaches to the design or development of new or improved products, processes, equipment or facilities.
Specific Responsibilities
- Key contributor for technical projects consisting of a project team of engineers, support personnel, consultants and suppliers involving design, development, prototype construction and delivery, test and evaluation and release for production.
- Process machined parts and assemblies start to finish
- Program CNC mills, lathes, and grinders
- Troubleshoot machining processes
- Design tool and fixture using SolidWorks, Creo, Catia, or similar software
- Conceives and owns manufacturing improvement projects using engineering best practices. Effectively plans what is to be achieved and gets relevant team staff members involved in decision making.
- Conceives and implements cost savings projects to reduce manufacturing costs.
- Make appropriate decisions, including risk analysis, using decision support tools, critical thinking, developing support data, and being mindful of business impact of changes.
- Provides technical guidance for engineering team by demonstrating the capacity to understand design principles, the business, and product functionality.
- Create work instructions and work aids used by the production team
- Complete run off/acceptance testing of new machining equipment
- Demonstrate general knowledge of metrology and the use of inspection gauges and equipment
- Effective written and verbal communication skills to convey information to project team(s) and management.
- Work to develop individual goals / objectives to support the department goals through the use of the Maximizing Performance Appraisal Process.
- Receives general direction, exercises considerable discretion as to personal work details with other technical personnel.
- Personally demonstrate and drive the Rehlko Core Competencies.
- Ensure adherence to applicable product compliance requirements including but not limited to the Clean Air Act, California Code of Regulations and California Health and Safety Code.
Skills/RequirementsRequired Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or mechanical engineering technology.
- Four or more years of experience in an engineering role in an industry responsible for manufacturing complex machined and complex industry of manufacturing components and systems assemblies.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Programming CNC mills, lathes, grinders using CAM software such as Master CAM, Gibbs CAM, etc.
- Experience managing capital projects associated with machine replacements, capacity increases, cost out initiatives, factory expansions, etc.
- Experience with AutoCAD and upkeep of factory layouts.
- Experience with Lean manufacturing concepts and their implementation.
- Root Cause/Corrective Action tools and methods.
- Fluent in G and M codes

The salary range for this position is $89800 - $114100. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's experience, their education, and the work location.
