Summary: Directs and coordinates activities of workers engaged in the receipt, processing, and referral of laboratory specimens for testing within Roswell Park laboratories or contracted reference laboratories; supervises technical and non-technical staff in the management of receipt, processing, and referral of specimens; provides support for Roswell Park reference laboratory relationships inclusive of regulatory compliance, customer service, and quality assurance activities; provides direct administrative and clinical support to the Department Chairperson and Administrator; performs, monitors and reviews simple and/or complex laboratory test procedures in one or more areas.
Salary range for this position is $88,639 - $111,897 annually which includes a comprehensive benefits package. This position also provides an annual geographic differential of $4,580 and an assignment differential of $8,320 for a total salary range of $101,539 - $124,797 annually.
Qualifications:Required Education and Experience
License Requirement
1. Possession of a full license to practice as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist in the State of New York; or
2. Eligibility for full licensure as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist in the State of New York; or
3. Physician licensed to practice medicine or osteopathy in the State of New York.
Education and Experience
1. Doctorate degree in one of the chemical, physical or biological sciences and the equivalent of one (1) year of full-time experience as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist in a clinical laboratory or blood bank; or
2. Master's degree in one of the chemical, physical or biological sciences and the equivalent of two (2) years of full-time experience as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist in a clinical laboratory or blood bank; or
3. Bachelor's degree in one of the chemical, physical or biological sciences and the equivalent of four (4) years of full-time experience as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist in a clinical laboratory or blood bank; or
4. Bachelor's degree in medical technology or laboratory science and the equivalent of four (4) years of full-time experience as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist in a clinical laboratory or blood bank.
NOTES:
1. As a condition of continued employment, full license eligible incumbents must obtain and maintain the full Clinical Laboratory Technologist licensure in the State of New York within six (6) months of their appointment to this title.
2. The applicable clinical laboratory or blood bank experience must be from a clinical laboratory or blood bank as defined in Section 571 of the New York State Public Health Law.
3. Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited school, college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.
