What You Will Contribute to OHM Advisors

As a Survey CAD Technician, you will be an integral member of our Field Services Survey team, applying your technical skills to produce high-quality survey drawings and designs. Your contributions will ensure accurate and efficient project deliverables while supporting the success of our survey team.

Your Responsibilities

  • Produce CADD drawings and designs for survey projects, ensuring accuracy and quality.
  • Process field data and create design-ready existing conditions base maps.
  • Calculate parcel and lot line locations and/or easement lines using taxation information and/or title information.
  • Prepare easement and right-of-way descriptions and associated drawings as specified by the client.
  • Conduct research of public land survey records to support project requirements.
  • Perform survey field activities as needed, including leveling, traversing, topographic mapping, construction layout, as-built surveys, boundary surveys, profile, and cross-section surveys.
  • Review and adhere to state and local regulations regarding surveying standards and practices.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure consistency with project specifications and objectives.
  • Support the development of CADD libraries and templates in coordination with the CADD discipline leadership.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree or higher in Surveying/Engineering or a minimum of three (3) years of Survey CAD Tech experience.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation V8, Carlson, and GEOPAK.
  • Strong aptitude for mathematics, specifically trigonometry and geometry.
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Must be computer literate with experience using Excel.
  • Must have a valid and current driver's license.
  • Must have personal auto liability insurance with limits specified by state law in the state where you reside.
Preferred Qualifications
  • AutoCAD Certification is preferred.
  • Experience with all types of surveying equipment and procedures is a plus.
  • GIS experience is a bonus.
  • Familiarity with TDOT or other DOT survey standards is preferred.
