Our client is seeking a Systems Analyst in Norfolk, VA.
Role Description
Essential Responsibilities:
• Deploy, maintain, upgrade and troubleshoot core business applications
• Meet and coordinate with designated internal stakeholders to understand business goals and needs
• Gain a deep understanding of business applications and how the business units use them
• Understand how business applications integrate and depend on one another
• Meet and coordinate with external stakeholders to establish strong vendor relationships
• Develop and implement maintenance and troubleshooting procedures
• Participate in process improvement, user access management, change management, problem management and disaster recovery activities as they relate to assigned applications
• Monitor system health and gather system statistics
• Maintain system documentation to include application information, diagrams, etc.
• Define and coordinate the execution of testing procedures and develop test cases to serve the overall quality assurance process
• Act as the first line of support for users of business applications
• Follow all relevant policies and procedures including Change Management and Project Management
Specific Duties:
• Ensure the daily operability of systems by monitoring and responding to incidents
• Maintain system documentation
• Adheres to applicable federal laws, rules, and regulations including those related to Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA).
• Other duties as assigned.
Skills & Requirements
Minimum Required Skills & Competencies:
• Ability to understand business goals and needs
• Communicating with business and technology leaders, both within and outside the organization
• Ability to think critically and be analytical
Desired Skills & Competencies:
• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or related field with 5 years of professional experience
• Strong familiarity with the financial services industry and technology concepts
Physical Requirements:
• Express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word via email and verbally.
• Exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, use your arms and legs, and sit most of the time.
• Have close visual acuity to perform activities such as analyzing data, viewing a computer terminal, reading, and preparing documentation.
• Not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
