Systems Engineer Intern

We are looking for our next Software Intern in Livermore, CA as we accelerate our growth journey. We're looking for a detail-oriented individual to join our engineering team and work in a public fast-growing collaborative robotics and controls company. This is an opportunity to apply your cross-functional skillsets, creativity and experience in computer vision, systems engineering, robotics and control systems to solve exciting product development challenges.
What you'll do:
- Help with Mechanical Engineering design reviews for both fixed and mobile robots
- Help test vision with machine learning algorithms
- Implement mapping and navigation algorithms on an omni-drive mobile robot
- Communicate with the motor drives over TCP/IP
- Communicate with 3D cameras like RealSense
What you'll bring:
- Pursuing a degree in Mechatronic Engineering and/or Computer Science
- Experience with Object-Oriented Programming like in C/C#
- Experience with ROS/ROS2
- Mapping and navigation using ROS2
- Some experience communicating with hardware (motor drives)
- Experience with computer vision
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision on a wide range of projects.
- Good interpersonal skills and track record of good performance with small teams. Good communication skills, both oral and written.
