Job Summary

The Test Lab Co-op would first receive the proper required safety training, then would assist other test lab personnel with various test lab activities as needed and as able.

Responsibilities

• Assist test lab personnel with test planning and development activities.
• Assist test lab personnel with test set up activities.
• Assist test lab personnel with test monitoring.
• Assist test lab personnel with test equipment and supplies procurement.
• Assist test lab personnel with test lab documentation, procedures, resource planning, etc.
• Assist test lab personnel with test lab 5S and housekeeping.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Predictable and reliable attendance.

Position Qualifications

• College student working toward an applicable technical degree (Mechanical or Electrical, Associate or Bachelor, Engineering or Technology) or other relevant degree.
• Must fulfill 24 credit hours in one calendar year.
• Must possess and maintain a minimum of 3.0 GPA.
• Must be able to work between 15-25 hours per week.
• Good interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks.
• Ability to handle numerous assignments simultaneously.
• Highly motivated self-starter, takes ownership, eager to learn, cooperative, and reliable.
• Mechanically inclined with a good understanding of electricity and electronics.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Software, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
• Co-op students may be eligible to work up to 4 years if enrolled in a college or university and fulfill the criteria noted above.

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Ability to adjust focus, especially due to concentration on a computer screen.
• May need to lift and carry up to 30 pounds and/or position the body to reach items on the floor/below knee level or reach overhead.
• The person in this position needs to occasionally move about in industrial environments, and on uneven terrain.
• Works in a temperature-controlled office environment, with occasional work in outdoor weather conditions, and in industrial environments.
• The noise level in the work environment can be moderately loud.
• May be required to recognize small numbers, letters, symbols, and colors.
