Summary
DLA Piper's Latin America practice is seeking visiting attorneys to join the firm's New York or Miami office for up to one year. The visiting attorneys will work closely with our attorneys in various practice areas within the firm's LatAm group. We seek candidates with strong academic backgrounds and transactional experience in their home jurisdictions, preferably in the areas of corporate, M&A, and finance, though candidates with backgrounds in other transactional areas may also be considered on a case-by-case basis. Our LatAm group is recognized by Chambers and other industry publications across a diverse range of practice areas. Participants in our foreign visiting attorney program will have opportunities to work in a variety of sectors and will have access to the global DLA platform, including training, mentoring, and pro bono.
Bar Admission
- Must be admitted to practice in at least one jurisdiction in Latin America (Spain and Portugal will be considered on a case-by-case basis).
Requirements
- Eligibility for US bar admission is preferred, but not required.
- Native Spanish fluency is required; proficiency in Portuguese is desirable.
- Must have strong academic credentials.

Physical Demands, Work Environment, and Other RequirementsSedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.

Pay Transparency The firm's expected hiring pay for this position is $225,000 per year depending on the candidate's geographic market location. The compensation offered for employment will also be dependent on other factors including the candidate's experience, skills, educational and professional background, and overall qualifications.
