Position: Materials Group Leader, Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (ASRS)
Job Description

The Warehouse Supervisor will perform two primary functions:

Logistics Operations Support: Assist in the day-to-day administration of the Material ASRS System (WMS) to ensure smooth warehouse operations.

Material Functions Support: Provide support to plant employees regarding daily assignments, tasks, training, and work schedules.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide administrative support to the Material ASRS system (WMS).
• Plan and coordinate stock checks and cycle counts.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports as required.
• Ensure policies and procedures are maintained.
• Identify and resolve operational and procedural issues.
• Participate in brainstorming sessions to streamline processes and submit consistent process improvements.
• Ensure team members are trained and familiar with Material ASRS Procedures.
• Monitor picklists and make necessary adjustments to ensure production areas run at maximum efficiency.
• Resolve inventory sync issues by reviewing daily inventory and error reports, identifying root causes, and addressing discrepancies.
• Serve as primary support for Material ASRS system (WMS) for all end-user issues/questions.
• Facilitate new access and user termination requests, including access levels.
• Enforce health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Assist with planning work schedules, assignments, and timekeeping of team members.
• Demonstrate equipment operations and safety procedures to new employees or assign employees to experienced workers for training.
• Resolve worker problems and complaints in consultation with management or subordinates.
• Analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solutions and solve problems.
• Provide guidance and direction to subordinates, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance.
• Assist with daily goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and meet internal and external customer requirements.
• Encourage and build mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members.
• Review processing schedules and production orders to make decisions concerning inventory requirements, staffing, work procedures, and duty assignments, considering budgetary limitations and time constraints.
• Resolve system issues in consultation with technical or administrative staff.
• Recommend training programs or reorganization techniques for the manufacturing process.
• Foster a team environment and promote an engaged workforce.

Required Skills and Abilities

• Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, and efficiencies, and techniques for maximizing effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
• Knowledge of logistic operations, including material picking, receiving, shipping, FIFO, etc.
• Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership techniques, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
• Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications.
• Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
• Knowledge of various functions of an automotive plant such as maintenance, quality, production control, safety, operations, and materials.
• Knowledge of strategies such as product lifecycle management (PLM), just-in-time, and self-directed teams.
• Knowledge of organizational rules, regulations, procedures, and practices.
